Yes. The identity check happens only once; after that, a single BBaton login passes the user’s adult status to your service.
The one-time identity check can be done with PASS (mobile identity verification) or with an ID document (passport, resident registration card, or driver’s license) plus a face match.
Integrate over the standard OAuth 2.0 flow — WordPress via plugin, apps via SDK.
Apply for API access to receive a Client ID and Secret Key, register your Redirect URL, then call the APIs in order: authorization code → token → user info. Following the guide, setup takes 3 hours.
See the Developer Guide and the WordPress Plugin guide for details.
Names and phone numbers are not passed.
When you call the user info API (GET /v2/user/me) with the token, it returns adult status (adult_flag) along with a user ID (user_id), birth year (birth_year), gender (gender), and income and student fields (income, student); fields without a value return N/A.
The user_id is a randomly generated BBaton account ID unrelated to the user’s real name, and the same user_id is passed to every service that integrates BBaton.
Hashes are recorded — not the verification data itself.
On sign-up or re-verification, a hash of the user ID and a hash of the verification attributes (adult status, gender, birth year, etc.) are written to the Base (L2) public blockchain; on each BBaton login, a hash of the user ID and a hash of the service ID are written.
Hashes use a per-user random value (salt), which is kept on BBaton’s servers.
BBaton does not store names, phone numbers, or resident registration numbers in its database.
What the database keeps: adult status, gender, and birth year; a verification identifier (the certification ID issued by PASS, or a random value); a randomly generated account ID with a hashed password and secret key; and a usage log of which service a user verified with and when.
ID and face images are deleted after they are used for verification (text recognition and face matching).
You can delete your account only with the secret key issued when you first signed up.
BBaton does not verify account ownership by any means other than the secret key. Like a blockchain wallet’s private key, if you lose your secret key, BBaton cannot recover the account for you.
Deleting your account removes your account information.
